Merge PDF
NewCombine multiple PDF files into one in seconds — free, private, and entirely in your browser. No uploads, no sign-up required.
The Merge PDF tool lets you combine multiple PDF files into a single document — completely in your browser. There is no server upload, no account required, and no file size limit imposed by the tool itself beyond what your browser can handle.
Upload any number of PDFs (up to 20), drag them into the order you want, and click Merge. The result is a single .pdf file ready to download instantly.
All processing uses pdf-lib, a trusted open-source library that runs entirely client-side. Your files are never transmitted anywhere.
- 1Drag and drop your PDF files into the upload area, or click Browse Files to select them.
- 2Reorder the files by dragging them or using the Move Up / Move Down buttons.
- 3Optionally set a custom output filename in the File Name field.
- 4Click Merge PDFs — the tool will process everything in your browser.
- 5Download your merged PDF file when it appears in the result panel.
No. All processing happens entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. Your files never leave your device — they are never uploaded to any server, and no one else can access them.
Only standard PDF files (application/pdf) are supported. Files with other MIME types will be rejected with an inline error message.
You can add up to 20 PDF files per merge operation. The tool will display an error if you try to add more than 20 files.
No. Password-protected (encrypted) PDFs cannot be merged because the tool cannot access their contents without the password. Such files will be automatically skipped and identified by name in an inline error.
Yes. You can drag and drop files to reorder them, or use the Move Up and Move Down buttons on each file. The final merged PDF will follow the exact top-to-bottom order shown in the list.
Yes. There is a filename input field where you can type any name you like. Forbidden characters (/ \ : * ? " < > |) are stripped automatically, and .pdf is appended if not already present. The default filename is "merged".
The tool works in all modern browsers — Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari. It requires JavaScript to be enabled. Internet Explorer is not supported.
The output is a standard PDF file. All pages from the selected files are combined in order and saved as a single .pdf download.
Each individual PDF file may be up to 50 MB. The combined total size of all files in the list may not exceed 200 MB. Files that exceed these limits are rejected with an inline error.
Your files exist only in your browser's memory during the session. Once you navigate away, close the tab, or click "Merge More", all in-memory data is cleared. Nothing is stored on disk, in localStorage, or in any browser storage.
